Obituary for
Cheryl June Wise (Bruce)
Cheryl J. Wise, 57, of Ellettsville passed away Friday, September 2, 2016 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born, April 12, 1959 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of George E. Bruce and G. Ann Chaney-Henderson.
Cheryl was the Postmaster for the Athletics Department at Indiana University for 25 years.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister who enjoyed golfing, fishing and riding with her husband on their Harley-Davidson.
Cheryl attended the McDoel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Jeff G. Wise, one daughter, Crystal E. Vest (Anthony) of Bloomfield, two sons, Jeremy J. Wise and Richard “Dickie” Wise both of Ellettsville, her mother and father both of Bloomington, mother-in-law, Lynn Wise of Spencer, two sisters, Melissa Bruce (Terry) of Bedford and Tam Bruce-Riney of Stanford, two brothers, Roy L. Bruce (Sarah) and George Bruce all of Bloomington, five sisters-in-law, Katrina Wise, Dana Wise, Holly Wise, Lisa Wise and Tammy Wise, three brothers-in-law, Erik Wise, Greg Wise and Brian Wise, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Robert Wise, step-father, Wilbur Henderson, sister-in-law, Cathy Bruce and two nieces, Tiffany Bruce Simmons and Christy Scroggins.
Visitation will be 4-8pm Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, IN 47401.
Funeral services will 1:00pm Thursday at The Funeral Chapel with Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow Clover Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
