Martha Joyce Hacker, 89, Bloomfield, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Martha was born May 30, 1929 in Martinsville, Indiana, the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Finchum) Scales.
Martha had worked at RCA and Brown School. She served with her husband at Dolan Ridge Church in Bloomington, Indiana, Union Church in Hendricksville, Indiana and Koleen United Methodist Church in Koleen, Indiana.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Rev. Chester Hacker of Bloomfield, Indiana; three sons, Steve (Brenda) Hacker of Bloomington, Indiana , Randy (Rita) Hacker of Bloomington, Indiana , and Bryan (Renee) Hacker of Bloomfield, Indiana; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her brother, Ted Scales and sister, Betty Spriggs.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard with visitation after 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Greene County, Indiana.
