Obituary for Edith Kay Reynolds

Edith Kay Reynolds
8/7/1954 - 9/7/2018
On September 7, 2018 our cherished sister Edie “Nan/Nanny” Reynolds left her earthly home for her forever home in Heaven. Born August 7, 1954 in Jackson Mississippi, Edie was the daughter of James and Louetta (Harden) Reynolds, she was 64 years young.
Edie was a hair stylist by trade at Colonial Beauty Mart before opening her own salon, Sassy Scissors and finishing up her career at Main Connection. In addition to her work making others beautiful, Edie worked at RCA, General Electric and retired in 2017 from Cook Polymer.
Edie had a passion to serve others, and a true desire to do God’s work. She had a joyful spirit, a kind heart and a knack for saying what needed to be said. She could often be found sharing meals with friends or family, or rocking a little one.
Edie was preceded in death by her parents, one step-grandson Tristan Skipper, a nephew, Jeremy Scott Reynolds. She is survived by her brothers and sister-in-laws, Jim “Bro” & Cathy Reynolds of Solsberry, Billy & Dana Reynolds, her sisters and brother-in laws, Susie & Chuck Holler and Terri & David Etnier, all of Bloomington. One step daughter, Olivia Skipper, step grandchildren, Landon, Hayden, Isabella and Isaac Skipper of Louisiana and one step son Bobby (Cindy) Summitt of Bloomington.
Nan had a deep love for her nieces and nephews: Desiree Reynolds (Erik Bertermann), Nik & Vivi Goetze, John (Jamie) Holler, Michael Holler, Lisa (Andy) & Vance Empson, James & Cortlen Holler (Keaton Deckard), Thurston & McKayla Reynolds, Ali (Lazarus), Emery & Parks Sears, Marcus (Ashley Swain), Jolie & Deacon Etnier. She will be greatly missed by her best friends, Pam Gray, Danielle Meadows and her boys Jaysson and Jarrett Chapman and many many other special friends.
Visitation will be at The Funeral Chapel on Monday, September 10th from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, with services on Tuesday, September 11th at 11:00 am with Pastor Richard Reed officiating. She will be laid to rest at Clear Creek Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the IU Health Bloomington Hospice House in memory of Edie.
