Catherine Marie Vaughn (Ropp)
Catherine Marie Vaughn, 89, of Smithville passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Golden Living Center surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 2, 1929 in Jennings, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Frank Leslie and Alma Inez (Reed) Ropp.
Catherine was an assembler at Otis Elevator for 35 years. Catherine and her husband Jack were the caretakers of Smithville Cemetery for many years.
She enjoyed working in the kitchen and being a member of the Smithville Christian Church for 40 years.
Catherine was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed crocheting and quilting.
Survivors include sons, Thomas J. "Tom" Vaughn (Susan) of Bloomington, and Jack E. Vaughn of Oolitic, four grandchildren, David Vaughn, Michael Vaughn (Tammy), Kristen Wright (David), and Jodi McGowen (Scott), seven great-grandchildren, Mason, Brayden, Margaret, Grayson, Allison, Bill, and Jack, son-in-law, Grover Linthicum, and daughter-in-law, Connie Vaughn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Vaughn (2001), daughter, Theodora Linthicum (2016), son, David Lee Vaughn (2000), two brothers, Frank and Melvin Ropp, and two sisters, Jane Linthicum, and Ethel Jett.
Visitation will be 9am-11am Friday, June 29, 2018 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, IN 47401.
Funeral services will be 11am Friday at The Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Smithville Cemetery.
