Obituary for Rodney Lee "Rod" Figg

Rodney Lee "Rod" Figg
Rodney Lee Figg of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on Friday June 8, 2018 at the age of 75. Rodney was born on September 9, 1942. He graduated Bloomington High School and Indiana University in Business. His greatest high school accomplishment was breaking Donnie Rush’s pole vaulting record in track. Rod was a top award winning #1 realtor for over 20 years while receiving his Emeritus status a few years ago.
Rod liked living life to the fullest and enjoyed going on trips with his beloved wife of 15 years. He also loved going to dinner at Malibu Grill and Janko's as often as he could and mingle with friends at Crazy Horse. His biggest love though, was his family. He loved spending time with his sons, wife and gorgeous new granddaughter, Symarra. He loved boating, traveling, golfing and all things real estate.
Rod is survived by his favorite mother-in-law, Judie Baker, the love of his life, wife, Denise Figg, his sisters, Beverly Figg Clark (Steve), Sandi Figg Wampler (Walter), Kristi Figg Jackson (Brady), and Diana Rush Holdman (David), brother, Danny Baker (Jennifer), his children, Rich Figg, Mark Figg, Angie Richardson, Brad Figg, Stefen Hogue, and Jordan Hogue, several grandchildren and great grandchildren including his most recent love Symarra Hogue.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Rev Woody Figg, infant daughter Andrea, brother David Figg and brother Kenny Rush.
Rod was affectionately known as “Roddy” by his wife and close friends.
There will be a celebration of life on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, Indiana 47401.
Denise would love for all of you to bring joyful, fun uplifting stories of our beloved friend because he worked really hard to make the world a more positive beautiful place to live.
