Obituary for Jennifer Faith Stieglitz

Jennifer Faith Stieglitz, age 24, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at home on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. She was born to Gerry and Betty (Benshoof) Stieglitz on November 19, 1993 in Bloomington.
Jennifer Faith was God’s very special child. Though her life on Earth came with much suffering, Jennifer had a very special personality that reached the heart of all who spent time with her. Though she could not walk or talk, had a trach and a feeding tube; her eyes, smile, laughter and personality communicated God’s love and presence. Jennifer impacted everyone who came into contact with her. Family and friends, caregivers and strangers alike, saw her life as one of extraordinary accomplishment. While she was physically limited in life, her story had a far-reaching impact that brought people to Christ across the globe and saved children from unthinkable horrors in places such as Uganda. As her late mother so eloquently stated, “God gave Jennifer a big job to do, and she did it well.”
As we celebrate Easter Sunday, we remember that Christ’s life on Earth was not rich but poor. His mission was not to condemn but to save, and He accomplished that not by force and power but through suffering and sacrifice. Because of Christ’s death and resurrection on the cross we can celebrate today knowing that someday we will be reunited with Jennifer in heaven. This Easter, it would be Jennifer’s wish for all to know Christ and that He is the pathway into heaven where we all will be reunited.
Jennifer is survived by her dad, her step-mother, Lisa Stieglitz, her brother, Michael Stieglitz and his wife Taeha, their children, Owen and Ferrah, her sister, Debbie Stieglitz, her grandma, Betty Benshoof, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her mother.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana 47401.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday at The Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington.
