Norma Hurst, born to Floyd and Rose Sumner, never found the time to retire.
She enjoyed tax preparation, working at H&R Block for the past 20 years. In the early years, she worked as a homemaker. She loved her days out, the North Eastwood Swim Club, and working as a water safety instructor and manager. Norma and Buddie operated the Salt Creek Bait and Tackle.
They lived in Clewiston, Florida after Buddie's retirement where she worked for Roland Martin.
Always full of life, Norma liked cards, quilting, ceramics, and music. She was always ready to go dancing.
Norma opened her home throughout her life to friends and family, and always made space for a child in need.
Survivors include her children, Steve Hurst (Kathy Reynolds), Sheryl Dorn, Tamra J. Hurst-Howell, and Barbara Hatton, brothers, Jack Sumner, Art Holden and Peter Holden and sisters, Marsha Holden and Mona Donaldson.
Visitation for Norma will be from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Monday February 26, 2018 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard.
Services will be at 2:00 pm at The Funeral Chapel on Monday.
