Geneva I. Hutcherson, 97, went to live with her Lord and Savior on Monday October 30, 2017. She was born on April 29, 1920 to Homer and Myrtle Spencer. She resided in Bloomington all her life.
Geneva married her childhood sweetheart Albert “Bud” Hutcherson on October 4, 1936. Together they welcomed six children – Jerry (Judy), Ronald (Ruth), Dennis, Jeffrey (Jo) Hutcherson, Jeanne (James) Campbell and Debra Duncan. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and five siblings – Glenn, Frank, Paul, Charles Spencer and Alice Fitch.
Geneva was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She dearly loved her family and was an exceptional mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed reading her Bible and Christian fictional books, working cross word puzzles and playing cards with her friends. She touched the heart of everyone she met.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington at 1:30 pm on Thursday November 2, 2017. Rev. David Mullins will officiate the service and private burial will take place at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
