Obituary for Cindy Fender

Cindy Fender, 58, of Heltonville passed away on Wednesday October 25, 2017 at the IU Health Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Cindy was born August 25, 1959 in Bedford and was the daughter of the late Wilma Umphress.
Cindy was a loving, caring, kind and compassionate woman who never met a stranger and was always helping others. She attended Burgoon Baptist Church, loved to travel and took early retirement just prior to her illness with the hope of traveling more. She worked at AT&T for 15 years and later for Comcast where she retired in July. She was a member of the C.W.A. and was a Teach-A-Tot instructor with AT&T.
Cindy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister and will be missed dearly by her husband and best friend of 39 years, Jeff Fender, 3 daughters; Autumn Mobley, Jessica Gadd and Kayleigh Chastain, bonus daughter, Catrina Montgomery, 4 sons-in law, John Mobley, Shane Gadd, Matt Montgomery and Aaron Chastain, future son-in-law Craig Scott, 6 grandchildren; Keyairah Gadd, Rylie Mobley, Isaiah Gadd, Adam Mobley, Tyler Montgomery and Lizzy Montgomery, 2 great grandchildren, Addaleigh and Arraleigh, brother, Jim Umphress , sister Kathy Walt, mother-in-law Allile Seigle, brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Christy Fender, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews and a very special aunt Bert Blackwell. Cindy also leave behind many additional loved ones and friends that she considered family.
Preceding her in death was her mother Wilma Umphress.
Pallbearers will be John Mobley, Craig Scott, Aaron Chastain, Matt Montgomery, Kevin Fender and Jim Umphress.
Services for Cindy will be 1:00 pm Monday October 30, 2017 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington. Rev. Harold Godsey will officiate the service and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-6 pm on Sunday October 29, 2017 at The Funeral Chapel and Monday from 12:00 pm until service time.
Memorial contributions may be given to the IU Health Hospice House in Cindy's memory.
