Obituary for James M. "Jim" Hood

James M. "Jim" Hood, 67, of Bloomington passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 at his residence.
Born, February 20, 1950 in Bloomington, Indiana, he was the son of the late Robert Bruce and Martha Nell (Prince) Hood.
Jim was employed at Sears, K-mart and eventually retiring from Indiana University in Bloomington.
He was a devout Christian who enjoyed playing video games,collecting weaponry and reading.
Jim was a Veteran of the United States Navy.
Survivors include one daughter, Candy L. Peck (Bert), three grandsons, Casey, Nathan, and Jalen Peck all of Bloomington, one brother, Robert M. Hood (Michelle) of Glen Burnie, MD; five nieces, Brittany L. Kawazoe of Bastrop, TX; Bethany A. Day (Scott) of Boerne, TX; Chanda D. Guerin of San Francisco, CA; Genevieve A. Hood, and Natalie M. Hood, and one nephew, Landon R.W. Hood all of Glen Burnie, MD; and several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 2-3pm Thursday, September 28, 2017 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington. A memorial service will follow at 3:00pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
