Evelyn James, 85, of Bloomington passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at her residence.
Born, November 7, 1931 in Evanston, IL; she was the daughter of the late William and Louise (Rapold) Barg.
Evelyn was a member of the St. Thomas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bloomington.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed quilting and she was a master gardener.
Survivors include her children, Jeff James (Sandy), Susan Doyle (Robert), David James (Laura), Patrick James (Mary), and Matthew James (Shannon), son-in-law, Robert Ely, grandchildren, Matthew (Katie), Michael (Sara), Christine, Thomas, Emily, Tyler (Syvannah), Becky, Travis (Jamie), Will, and Maddie great-grandchildren, Mackenzy, Natilyn, Amaya, and Gavin.
Evelyn was preceded in death by husband, Bill James and daughter, Stephanie Ely.
The family will receive friends 4-5pm Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. Thomas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3800 E. Third St. Bloomington, IN 47401.
A Celebration of life will be 5:00pm Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to IU Health Hospice House.
