James R. Ruckriegle, age 77, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on July 17, 2017 at Stonecroft Health Campus in Bloomington. James was born on July 31, 1939 in Martinsville, Indiana to Russell and Delma (Ross) Ruckriegle.
James graduated from Otwell High School in 1956. He went to Indiana University to get a Bachelor's Degree and University of New Orleans to get his Master's Degree. He worked for the IRS for 35 years the for USAID for 10 years. James was a member of Phi Kappa Si and a lifetime member of the Indiana University Alumni Association. James was a clarinetist and enjoyed playing cabbage ball, golfing, and traveling. He loved discussing the stock market and loved sports of all kinds, he was especially a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
James is survived by his wife, Karen Ruckriegle (Muzek) of Bloomington, Indiana, daughter, Kara Ruckriegle of Dallas, Texas, sisters, Kathie Bates of Cincinnati, Ohio and Karen Lion of Columbus, Indiana, numerous beloved nephews and nieces, and great-nephews and great-nieces.
James is preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Otwell United Methodist Church, 10055 East Washington Street, Otwell, Indiana 47564.
The memorial service will be at 2:00 PM Monday, with burial to follow at Otwell Cemetery. Lynn Dunning will officiate.
