Louise A. "Sue"  McDowell (Alexander)
Louise A. “Sue” McDowell, 95, of Bloomington passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born, December 19, 1921 in Minneth, MO; she was the daughter of Sidney and Missouri (Robertson) Alexander.
Sue was a Sales Associate at McDaniel Furniture for many years and also at Three Sisters Clothing Store in Bloomington. Her and her late husband, George T. McDowell owned and operated IGA Grocery Stores in Indianapolis, and Kennett, MO.
She was a member of the Arlington United Methodist Church in Bloomington.
Sue was also preceded in death by five sisters, Marjorie, LaVerne, Genevieve, and twins, Eunice, and Eula. They’re mother Missouri moved to Farmington, MO, upon the death of their father at a very young age.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Elroy Brady (Mary Lou), Nancy Galemore (the late Gary), Patricia Peterson (Charlie), Sidney Boyd (Mike), and Deborah Murray (Bob). Sue is also survived by numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 12-2pm Monday, July 3, 2017 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday at The Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rick Amerine officiating. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Arlington United Methodist Church, 1820 W. Arlington Rd. Bloomington, IN 47404.
