Obituary for Christina A. Murphy

Christina Ann Murphy, 81, of Bloomington passed away on Wednesday June 28, 2017 at Golden Living Center. Christina was born January 15, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Lorenz Edward and Delia (Cummings) Mauritson.
Christina was a waitress at several restaurants through the years and had also worked at Stroud Ford and the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York. In her younger years she was a roller derby girl known as the Blonde Bomber. She was a devout Catholic and attended St. John's Catholic Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. Christina also raised two of her grandchildren, Samantha and Matthew after the death of their mother.
Survivors include her son Thomas Murphy (Deb Seese) of Stroudsburg, PA, sister Carol Nici of Long Island, New York, brother Ed Mauritson (Diane Richardson) of Bloomington, 6 grandchildren; Megan Elkington, Heather Prevoznik, Samantha Murphy, Matthew Murphy, Jamie Murphy and Shannon Murphy and two great grandchildren, Matthew and Hailey. Also surviving are two former daughters-in-law, Beth Isom and Shelly Prevoznik (John).
Christina was preceded in death by her parents and a son and daughter-in-law Edward Joseph Murphy and Susan Murphy.
