Obituary for Jerry C. Reed

Jerry C.  Reed
Jerry C. Reed, 93, of Bloomington, passed away on Sunday April 16, 2017 at the Meadowood Health Pavilion. Jerry was born May 21, 1923 in Hope, Indiana and was the son of the late Edward Charles and Anna M. (George) Reed. Jerry graduated from Hope High School Class of 1941 and was an Army Veteran of World War II where he served as Sergeant Finance Technical Clerk before returning to graduate from Indiana University in 1950. He was Certified Public Accountant having worked at Guy Wylie and Geo. S. Olive offices and even after retirement he maintained several clients. His memberships included First United Church, Elks Lodge # 446 and the Hope Masonic Lodge # 250.
Jerry is survived by two granddaughters; Lisa Reed and Christine Dixon both of Austin, Texas and three great grandchildren; Madeline Virginia Dixon, Finley Wynne Dixon and Reed Alan Bergmark.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn Reed (2002), and two sons; Richard Reed (2007), and Jerry Reed (2012).
Visitation for Jerry will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Friday April 21, 2017 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard.
Services will be at 1:00 pm Friday at The Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dr. Jack Skiles officiating. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens where the Monroe County Veteran’s Honor Guard will have Military Rites.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given at the Monroe County Humane Association.
