Obituary for Willious C. "Bill" Hopkins

Willious C."Bill" Hopkins, 86 of Bloomington, passed away in his sleep on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at his residence. Willious was born January 2, 1931 in Pulaski County, Kentucky and was the son of the late William Hopkins and Enola (Wesley) Hines.
Willious was a graduate of Solsberry High School and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War serving in Germany. He retired from Crider and Crider where he was a Heavy Equipment Operator, having also worked at Rogers, Abram Brothers and Kale Corporation. He was a 50 year member of the Freemasons - Stanford Lodge # 173, Knights Templar and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 841. Willious loved to hunt, fish, dune buggy, garden and especially enjoyed family gatherings and Sunday dinners.
Willious married Viola "Sue" (Burks) Hopkins on February 6, 1953 and she survives along with their children, Peggy (David) Crites of Solsberry, Steven (Marilyn) Hopkins of Bloomington and Rebecca (Lester "Pete") Mobley of Spencer. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 sisters; Judy (Otto) Raines of Pleasantville, IN, Geneva Murphy of New Castle, IN and Evelyn Stahl of Dakota, IL along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wilburn Hopkins, and sister Waunetta (Buck) Burks.
Services for Willious will be 11:00 am Tuesday April 18, 2017 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington. Pastor Danny Hillenburg will officiate. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens where the Monroe County Veteran's Honor Guard will have Military Rites.
Visitation will be on Monday April 17, 2017 from 4-8 pm at The Funeral Chapel.
