Obituary for Shirley Ann Byers

Shirley Ann Byers, 81, of Bloomington passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday March 9, 2017 at Garden Villa Nursing Home.
Shirley was born January 13, 1936 in Martin County, Indiana and was the daughter of Oren and Flossie (Webster) Lundy. Shirley had worked as a Cook at Grandview School, and was a secretary for the Boy Scout Office and Indiana University. She was a member of South Union Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband of over 59 years, Jerry Byers of Bloomington, 2 sons; David Byers and Rick (Mary) Byers all of Bloomington, 3 grandchildren; Jacob Byers, Matt Byers and Carrie Smith and 4 great grandchildren; Blake Byers, Shelton Byers, Cameron Byers and Audrey Aycock.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be on Monday March 13, 2017 from 4-8 pm at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington.
Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday March 14, 2017 at The Funeral Chapel with Jimmy Cain officiating. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Shirley's memory may be given to South Union Christian Church or the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org
