Obituary for Anthony J. "Big Bird" Andrews

Anthony James “Big Bird” Andrews was born in Bloomington, Indiana on September 5, 1998, and was called to Heaven on February 21, 2017. Anthony is the son of Desiree (Hartfield) Sweeney and Anthony Andrews Sr.
Anthony was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Herman Andrews and James J. Hartfield. Two grandmothers, Ammie Marie Hartfield, and LoverD Andrews, and great grandmother Mary Francis Harris.
Survivors include his parents; paternal grandmother Elora Andrews-Powell of Indianapolis, 3 sisters, Charmaine Hartfield, Sabrina Sweeney and Giovanni DelBridge all of Bloomington. Three aunts, Toni Harris, Burshone (Adrian) Conner and Thelma Hartfield. Cousins; Emmanuel, Derek, Anthony, Shania, Braydon, Zion, Zi-Anna, Jamyah, Jeremy Jr. and C.I. as well as great aunts, uncles and cousins.
Anthony attended his Freshman and Sophomore years at Bloomington North and was a Senior at Bloomington High School South. Anthony also attended Lifeway Baptist Church faithfully for several years including church camp, youth group. Anthony always loved video games, loved to laugh and make you smile when your day was not so good. Not only was he “Big Bird” be he had a big heart. He was a leader in life and through his 18 years he was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday March 4, 2017 at the Lifeway Baptist Church, 7821 W. State Rd. 46 Ellettsville, IN with visitation from 9:00 am until service time at the church. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Contributions may be given to The Funeral Chapel to help Anthony’s family with expenses.
