Thomas Tracy Eakins, 51, of Bloomington, passed away on Wednesday January 25, 2017 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Tracy was born October 4, 1965 in Bloomington and was the son of Thomas Eakins and Marilyn (McCammon) Eakins.
Tracy attended Bloomington High School North and was a Maintenance Supervisor for several companies in Bloomington including Nature’s Way, Cedar Creek, Varsity Villas and Unity Physician Group. Tracy was a handyman and loved helping others and enjoyed collecting cars. He was also a member of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife Denise (Hay) Eakins of Bloomington, daughter Whitney Eakins of Bloomington, 2 grandsons Colton Archer and Bryson Eakins both of Bloomington, mother, Marilyn Eakins of Bloomington, father Thomas Eakins of Bloomington, two step sons John Franklin and Justin Franklin both of Bloomington and his aunt Regina Evans of Rushville.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harley and Irene McCammon, paternal grandparents Walter and Gladys Eakins, aunt Luella Deckard, and uncle Duane Eakins.
Services for Tracy will be 1:00 pm Saturday January 28, 2017 at the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, 2700 E. Rogers Road Bloomington. Tom Ellsworth will officiate the service and burial will follow at Garrison Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 am until service time at the church.
