Margaret E. Sparks (Todd)
Margaret E. Sparks, 95 of Ellettsville passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at Monroe Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born, January 29, 1920 in Heltonville, she was the daughter of the late James and Bertran “Tranny” (Bartlett) Todd.
Margaret was employed at the Crane Naval Service Warfare Center and later retiring from RCA after 35 years as an assembler.
She was a member of the Heltonville Christian Church.
Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening and watching IU Basketball games.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Hawkins (Bob), Barbara “B” Lehman (Charlie) all of Ellettsville and Beverly Hastings (Brent) of Greenwood, seven grandchildren, Kyle Lehman, Annette Jeffers, Debra Bailey, Cynthia Oliver, Kelly Rumple, Todd Elkins and Lori Hastings, ten great grandchildren and one sister, Shirley Bouher.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Sparks (2000), one son, Carl Rumple, daughter in law, Judy Rumple, two brothers, Mack and Opal Todd, two sisters, Ola Jones and Roberta Boyd.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, January 18, 2016 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington. Pastor Clifton Sparks will preside.
Visitation will be from 12:00pm until service time on Monday. Burial will be at Gilgal Cemetery in Lawrence County.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hearthstone Health Campus and Monroe Hospital for their kindness, care and professionalism.
