Vera Thompson
Vera Joanne (Wright) Thompson, 86, of Bloomington, IN died on January 10th, 2016 at Hearthstone Health Campus surrounded by her loving family.
Vera was born on January 14th, 1929 in Bloomington, IN to Mildred (Cutwright) and Lester Wright.
Vera dedicated her life to her loving husband, Charles Robert Maxwell Thompson Jr., her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a passionate supporter of the Indiana Hoosiers and the Colts and never missed a game. She enjoyed cooking and baking for others, bowling, ceramics, crafts and traveling. Vera especially enjoyed watching and supporting her grandchildren and great grandchildren in their various sports and activities.
Vera is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, her parents, and her brother, Richard Wright.
Vera is survived by her son, Terry Thompson, her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Gary Bland, her grandchildren, Gary Bland II (Teresa), Tara Biggerstaff (Jason), Trisha Bland (Jason), Lori Gill (Jeremy), Tyler Thompson (Stacy), and her great grandchildren, Jacob Bland, Grace and Eva Bland, Reese and Eliot Biggerstaff, Luke and Liv Thompson, and Grayson and Jackson Gill.
Friends may call at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington on January 13th, 2016 from 4pm-8pm. Funeral services will be on January 14th at 1pm with visitation at 12 pm. Graveside services will immediately follow at Clear Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be make the Alzheimer's Association at m.alz.org and IU Health Bloomington Hospice.
