Obituary for Patty Margie Crider

Patty Margie Crider
Patty Margie Crider, 85, of Bloomington, joined her parents and sisters in heaven on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Richland Bean-Blossom Health Care Center in Ellettsville.
Born March 29, 1930 in Marion County, Indiana she was the daughter of Marion B. and Mildred “Shirley” (Wray) Crider. Born Jeanette Crider, her great-grandfather Ben Wray nicknamed her Pattycake and the name stuck so well that her name was later legally changed to Patty.
Patty was a graduate of Bloomington High School and loved to read.
Patty loved to travel with her sister Mary. Together they traveled over most of the United States from the Atlantic to Pacific oceans. She loved photography and documented their trips in pictures. She loved plants, flowers and doing yard work until she was no longer able to do so. Patty loved children, especially infants and toddlers. Patty was involved with the Christian based orphanage Tupelo Children’s Mansion, sponsoring several children through the years. She also loved animals.
Patty was a member of the Pentecostal faith and was a past Sunday school teacher at the 11th Street Pentecostal Faith Assembly. She retired from RCA in Bloomington after over 40 years of service.
Patty was a kind and gentle soul that has a great sense of humor and a quick wit that she maintained till her last days. She loved reminiscing about days gone by.
Patty is survived by her brother, George M. Crider of Bloomington. Having no children of her own, she loved her nieces and nephews and is survived by them, Aprile Crider of Spencer, Geneva Duncan and her husband Roy of Ellettsville, Michael Hill, Shirley Kirby, and Paul Greene of Bloomington, also several great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Geneva Greene and Mary Crider, a nephew Travis Crider and a great-great nephew Joseph Duncan.
Patty will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The Family would like to thank all of the staff and friends at R.B.B.H.C.C. and Gentiva Hospice for everything you did for Patty to make her feel loved and cared for.
Visitation will be 4-8pm Tuesday, October 27, 2015 and 10-11am Wednesday at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, IN 47401.
Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday at The Funeral Chapel with Pastor Michael Douglas officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery.
