Obituary for Lois Faye Helms (Hill)

Lois Faye Helms, 65, of Spencer, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday at IU Health Bloomington Hospital with her loving family by her side. Lois was born May 23, 1950 in Bloomington and was the daughter of the late William M. and Hazel G. (Brown) Hill. She was a graduate of Smithville High School and drove a bus for many years for Martinsville Schools and later Richland Bean Blossom Schools.
Lois was the wife of Pastor Lonnie D. Helms of Whitehall Pentecostal Church in Spencer, IN. She was active in music and ministry in the church. She also loved to read, sew, walk, and travel.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Lonnie Helms of Spencer, daughter, Emily Dickerson and husband Eric of Bloomington and two grandchildren, Morgan Dickerson and Preston Dickerson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Doris Marie Hill.
Services for Lois will be 11:00 am Monday October 12, 2015 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington. Rev. Loy Baird will officiate the service and burial will follow at Walkers Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday October 11, 2015 from 2-6 pm at The Funeral Chapel and again on Monday from 10:00 am until service time.
