Shirley L Trittipo (Crooke)
Shirley L. Trittipo, 89, of Bloomington and formerly of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday in Bloomington. Shirley was born January 3, 1926 in Indianapolis to the late Henry Monroe “Pat” and Mae Ellen (Kennard) Crooke. She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1943.
Shirley had been an employee of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Indiana in the Finance Department, retiring in 1982. Previously she had worked in the offices of J.C. Penney & Co., Speedway and Lafayette Square. She lived most of her life in Indianapolis and was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
Shirley was married to Carl C. Trittipo for 71 years and he preceded her in death in 2014.
Survivors include two daughters; Carol McPike (Steve) of Albany, GA and Cathy Howell (David) of Bloomington, three grandchildren; Pamela Crowe (Travis) of Solsberry, IN, Patrick Howell (Dawn) of Austin, TX, and Rebecca Howell of Chicago, IL, and three great grandchildren; Megan Lynn Crowe and Xavier Grant Crowe both of Solsberry, IN and Hudson Patrick Howell of Austin, TX.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl, grandson, Carl Joseph Howell and sister, Henrietta Duncan.
Visitation will be Monday October 5, 2015 from 9-11 am at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington with funeral services following at 11:00 am. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
