Obituary for John Edler (Jack)

John (Jack) Edler, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9th 2015 at the age of 67 after being diagnosed with lung and liver cancer, while fighting other illnesses. Jack is survived by his loving wife Manee Edler and three loving children Catherine Edler, Audrey Carver, and Anek Lachon and his four grandchildren which he much adored, (Ariya,Adreana,Kamren and Kianna Carver) along with his brothers Jerry and Jim Edler. Jack was born in Evergreen Park, Cook county, Illinois. He is the son of Mary Elizabeth Schmiade and Joseph Edler. Jack attended Beloit College in Wisconsin and graduated with his bachelors degree in art and anthropology. He then followed his dreams and spent his life traveling the world as an art collector and dealer, focusing on Papua New Guinea. He has touched many lives from all over the world and worked with many museums over the years and showcased many artifacts. Jack was known to be very knowledgeable regarding New Guinea art and culture. His love of travel led him to the life of meeting and making friends from all over the world. Our father was a clever man, a sweet man who was never bias and always accepted every choice we’ve made. He is our number one supporter no matter where he goes his love will be deep within us. He gave his life to the lord and will no longer suffer but just to continue on traveling in another life. You are greatly missed dad but we know you are still with us. A memorial service will be 1:00pm Monday, September 28, 2015 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1413 E. 17th St. Bloomington, IN 47408.
