Obituary for Tammy Jo Smith

Tammy Jo Smith, 48, of Bloomington passed away Tuesday, September 08, 2015 at the IU Health Hospice House. Born, April 26, 1967 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Ernest N. Pedro and Rosemary E. (Childs) Lirot. Tammy was a 1985 graduate of Bloomington High School North and she received an Associate in Accounting from Ivy Tech University in Bloomington. She delivered newspapers for the Herald-Times for two years. Tammy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister who enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Jerry W. Smith, two daughters, Miranda Hancock and Rosetta Smith (Dylan), one son, Joseph R. Smith, three grandchildren, Anthony, Lukas and Sofia, her mother, Rosemary E. Lirot and her husband, Thomas A. Lirot Sr., her father, Ernest N. Pedro, four sisters, Dawn Rodriquez (John), Regina Hardy (Nick), Kimberly Chandler (Chris) and Fawn Sims (Robert), one brother, Thomas A. Lirot Jr. (Christina) all of Bloomington and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Soul’s Harbor Apostolic Church, 7510 Old State Rd. 37 Bloomington, IN 47401. Funeral services will be 7:00pm Thursday at the church with Pastor David Butcher officiating. The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to The Funeral Chapel.
